James Danckert Ph.D., and John Eastwood, Ph.D.

James Danckert, Ph.D., is a Cognitive Neuroscientist at the University of Waterloo where he studies boredom, attention, mental models, and the consequences of stroke. He lives in Kitchener with his wife and two boys and alleviates his own boredom with a semi-acoustic Fender, sailing whenever feasible, reading, and gardening.

John Eastwood, Ph.D., is a Clinical Psychologist and an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at York University where he trains future psychologists and conducts research on the intersection of cognition and emotion. His current focus—boredom—explores the unengaged mind. In his clinical practice, he provides psychotherapy to adults. He resides with his family in Brampton Ontario and can often be found reading, drinking tea, or out with his family canoeing Ontario’s lakes.
