Sometimes it seems like you can't find a way out of your problems. You desperately want things to change but don’t know where to start, and trying to make decisions about what to do just adds to the stress. During those times, speaking to a therapist can help you think clearly again. I could be an effective therapist for you if you're dealing with stress, relationship problems, emotional difficulties, or addiction. If your goals are to have more balanced emotional responses, higher self-esteem, less self-doubt, and better relationships, I can support you to make progress.

Having the courage to open up and taking the first step to talk about personal issues does not come easy. Excessive negative thoughts can cloud your mind, affect your mood and action. In long term may revolve in a cycle of emotional dysregulation. Counselling is evaluating and acquiring the origins and development of the issue. It may be just one session of self-awareness/decompartmentalising intervention is all you need, or a number of these sessions to help manage and improve your symptoms to reach your goals for a long term solution. In my sessions, I will support you through a psychotherapeutic approach according to your needs.

Clients seek safe avenues to speak without being judged, to be heard, and to be validated. This space also enables them to gain a deeper perspective on their struggles and challenges. For me, counselling is a collaborative experience of understanding the areas of concern, gaining new insights, building on strengths, and identifying client's needs and goals.

So many of us carry deeply buried pains and burdens within our hearts, unexpressed and unacknowledged. While these burdens might be scary to face alone, they can be confronted in the company and support of another. This is what I strive to offer my clients – a safe space to unburden the things that weigh on them and transform these burdens into newfound strength and resilience. I also believe strongly in making counselling accessible to everyone, no matter your background or income.

I work with clients who are struggling with insomnia and other sleep issues, or who simply want to have better sleep quality. Poor sleep can greatly affect mood, productivity, and quality of life, and most of the people I help are looking to repair their well-being by reclaiming quality sleep at night.

You're a devoted mother who consistently aims for high standards, leading to frequent stress and anxiety as you pursue perfection and strive for control. This pursuit sometimes leads to increased stress and feelings of inadequacy when things don't go as planned. To cope, you've developed backup plans, yet this ironically intensifies your guilt and occasionally strains marital harmony. Your primary goal is to find a healthier balance among your maternal ambitions, your role as a partner, and your emotional well-being. You aspire to be wholly present for your child and contribute to a harmonious family life.

Extremely passionate about empowering people to reach their full potential, I approach counselling with the belief that every person has an innate capacity to heal, renew, grow and flourish holistically in their emotional, mental, social and physical domains. However, life and life transitions can sometimes throw us off balance. We may then need support to tap into that inherent resilience and strength. We all go through stress, anxiety, low mood, emotional upheaval, rage, low self confidence, relationship issues at some point or other. Seeking help to ensure a healthy smooth journey is not only a necessity, but also a priority. My

FAQs - About Therapy and Counselling

How can I find a therapist in Singapore?

Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
