Welcome- clients seek out my help as a psychologist when something interferes with their life’s functioning. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, compulsions, addictions, grief, etc. something is blocking their ability to enjoy life. Their life becomes constricted. The symptom shackles their life blocking their ability to function normally. Most of what happens is related to memories and experiences which the brain holds as images that need to be reprocessed. It’s as if there is an event or series of events that remain frozen inside the brain, that needs to be released, This is how we heal or become whole.
Using Accelerated Resolution Therapy( similar to E.M.D.R.) and Internal Family Systems Therapy(I.F.S.) my approach to treatment combines the best of these approaches. The goal is to heal the memories and images, that keep us experiencing emotional pain, so life is restored to normal functioning.
