I'm passionate about helping you understand ADHD, how it affects YOU and what you can do with it. ADHD is widely misunderstood as a lack of focus or attention. ADHD is more accurately an issue of regulation which includes emotions, impulsivity, money, attention, sensory sensitivity etc. I work with clients on managing the symptoms of ADHD, the shame, guilt, anxiety and depression that stem from having ADHD in our society. Let's work together to create an environment that suits your brain.
I graduated from Western Michigan University with a masters in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling. I am EMDR trained and practicing. I am also a Gottman Level 1 trained clinician. I have done extensive trainings and research into ADHD. My goal is to create a non-judgemental space where collectively we can reach your individualized treatment goals.
No one is born knowing how to deal with emotions or regulate themselves, we learn this over time by others showing us how. I enjoy getting creative in helping you understand your life better in order to feel better. If you want to work with a therapist that also has ADHD, swears a little bit, and uses humor in session, then we may be a good fit.
