I am interested in people and in helping them change. I respect the courage it takes to face fears and difficult situations. I offer an emotionally safe, non-judgmental space in which to explore the problem and together, come up with a solution. People find it easy to talk to me. I am warm, responsive, and kind. I am experienced in helping people with any type of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficult childhoods, adjustment, grief and loss.
I am an integrative therapist. This means, I draw from several different methods and schools of psychotherapy such as mindfulness cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, existential therapy. Different approaches work with different people.
I have been a clinical social worker for 41 years. I worked in the University of Maryland Mental Health Service for 23 years with college and graduate students struggling with mental health issues. I have also taught at Catholic University's school of social service.
