I work with children and teens struggling with problems around school, mood and behavior while providing developmental guidance and effective parenting skills for parents. I work extensively with adults struggling with relationship and mood problems. Through providing a safe and relaxed environment, I guide them through a process of self-examination of their own patterns of thoughts, feelings, and relationship styles that kept them from getting what they want.
My areas of interests include: 1) couples counseling and family therapy; 2) parent- child relationships problems; 3) work through earlier traumatic issues to restore physical, relational and psychological well being; 4) Serve as an authorized provider for state funded free treatment for people suffering from their own or family member's gambling problems.
I am bi-lingual and bi-literate in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. I am bi-cultural with good understanding of differences between American and Chinese cultures. My clinical services also include consultations, premarital counseling, children social skill group and parenting group. My office is located in downtown San Mateo and easily accessible by Caltrain.
