My counseling theories most often practiced include solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, family systems, and client-centered. However, techniques used are drawn from different counseling perspectives in order to meet the clients' individual needs and strengths. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
Specialties include working with complex PTSD/trauma, LGBTQIA and BIPOC and AAPI clients, adolescents, Autism spectrum, relationships, self-esteem, substance abuse, addiction, anxiety, and bipolar disorders.
I have served as an adjunct professor at ODU to paraprofessionals working with addictions and substance abuse populations. Provided supervision to QMHPs practicing in in-home, TDT settings. Provided supervision for residents working toward licensure in VA, LPC, who are in or have completed a counseling, CACREP accredited Master's program.
