Many of my clients are recovering from burnout, low- self esteem, self-criticism, fearful thinking, negative thoughts and habits or patterns that aren’t serving them.
My approach is very holistic, humanistic and embodied. This means that I work with the mind/psychology (thinking, thoughts, emotions), the body (sensations and feelings) and what is often referred to as the ‘spirit’ (a deep connection with yourself, others and the world) and I empower clients to have agency and authority over their own life and wellness.

I am available to meet with you to discuss and talk through anything that is concerning you, or that you would like to see different in your life. An initial counselling session will enable you to discuss with me what you want to achieve during the counselling process. It will also help me to gain a bigger picture of who you are, so together we can work out how you will bring the changes you seek to make.

I offer a warm, accepting, and confidential space where you feel listened to. I have experience helping a diverse range of people with challenges that impact how they feel and their quality of life - including feeling stuck and disconnected, life changes, loss, and identity struggles, as well as people who identify as highly sensitive or neurodiverse. Psychotherapy helps us explore why we feel, think and respond the way we do. It can help us understand ourselves and patterns, discover new perspectives, recognise and manage our emotions, and can help us accept things we can't change.

I am a mindfulness based therapist, prolific throughout Australasia. My work uses ACT, CFT, RLT & DBT, but the key to my approach is appropriate validation, relational emphasis and healing the Inner Child that runs our lives. I believe that to draw breath is to have won the lottery, but to keep winning we have to be present within ourselves. We are all on a moving wellness spectrum, and support is a logical need. Ready to assist you with struggles through Adult ADHD, substance dependency, relationships, 'subclinical mental health issues' i.e. grief, anxiety, parenting, doubt, feeling stuck. I am a mindfulness coach & supervisor.

My clients are often driven entrepreneurs who appear to 'have it all together' externally yet internally they are struggling with negative emotions, conflicted thoughts and/or relationship difficulties. This is impacting the quality of their decision making and effectiveness as a leader while also contributing towards a general dissatisfaction in life. Although I love working with businesspeople, I welcome all enquiries from anyone who has a genuine desire to improve the quality of their life.

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
