Kia ora, Bula Vinaka, Namaste. My name is Tenisha and I am an Aotearoa-born Fijian-Indian. I offer short term counselling and long term therapy to adults, couples and young people (16+ years). I'm a qualified, registered counsellor (PMNZAC) and have spent the last 10 years providing therapy to individuals, couples, families and groups. As an ethnic woman of colour, I'm committed to providing culturally responsive mental health support, especially for our ethnic and migrant communities through continuous professional and personal development.
My approach to counselling is holistic, strengths-based and trauma-informed. Rather than see myself as the expert, I work with you to draw out your inner wisdom. I work with various issues, so whether you're looking for specific support or enhancing your general wellbeing, I aim to cultivate an empowering space to support your growth.
My specialist areas are 1.5 and 2nd generation migrants, cross-cultural & bi-racial relationships, belonging, identity, grief and trauma. I hope to provide a warm, safe and hopeful space for people to explore the nuances of life's journey and develop skills to support their healing in a collaborative way.
