I am a Registered mental health Social Worker who specializes in Play Therapy. I am a member of the Social Work Registration Board (NZ) and the Association for Play Therapy (US). My focus is supporting children and youth who are experiencing behavioural or social difficulties including anxiety, emotional dysregulation, anger/aggression, neurodiversity, trauma, loss and grief, and selective mutism. I also focus on supporting neurodiverse children to build social and emotional skills, who do not necessarily have mental health difficulties
I follow a holistic approach and aim to support the whole whanau while I work closely with their child in a child-friendly setting. I am a Mental Health Social worker who specializes in Gestalt Play Therapy techniques to support children in their own language, which is play. I do not diagnose neurodiversity but can support with pre-assessment if unsure.
Therapy can be a scary experience for children and they may feel unsure of what to say. This is why Play Therapy proves to be a very effective and child friendly form of therapy. I integrate my mental health and psychology training background in my work to provide evidence-based support. I am also a people's person and very easy to talk to.
