Do you long to feel safe being yourself? Is there something holding you back from your full potential? Whether you want to free yourself from the impact of trauma, childhood trauma, or are looking for personal growth, I can help you make the changes you are hoping for. Problems such as depression, anxiety, chronic pain, self-criticism, perfectionism, phobias, procrastination, or low self-worth, can all be alleviated by addressing the underlying pain driving these symptoms. Transformational change is possible, and I can help you to help yourself. Note: I am approved for ACC Sensitive Claims if you have history of sexual harm in NZ.
Experiential therapies such as IFS (Internal Family Systems), EMDR, and DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting) are three evidence based approaches that I can use to get to the root of your problems. Each approach is quite different, but they are all designed to tap into your brain's natural healing capacity so you can heal the underlying causes of your problems.
The research is very clear, finding a counsellor that you feel comfortable enough with is central to getting the outcomes you are hoping for. It's good to interview a few counsellors and trust your intution about who you feel safe with. I offer a free 20 minute consultation so that you can ask any questions and test out if you might like to work together.

If you are struggling with the impacts of trauma, IFS and DBR are a great combination of approaches for gradually releasing the load that your nervous system is carrying. Both are experiential, rather than cognitive, therapies. Both are constraint release models, where the goal is to allow you to embody your true self, rather than trying to change or improve you.

I often work with IFS (Internal Family Systems), an evidence based, non-pathologising and highly compassionate way to work with most mental health issues. It has become very popular in the last 5-10 years because it is very effective in bringing transformational change. I also work with EMDR, and DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting) a newer and effective therapy for processing traumatic shock.
