Hi! I've been working in mental health in Europe and NZ for many years, holding different roles and supporting people from all walks of life. As counsellor I provide a safe space for you to explore past and present experiences related to trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, migration related distress – topics I came to understand deeply through my own life experience, studies and training. My approach is ‘person centered’ and eclectic, which means that my focus is on you, while supporting the counselling process with different modalities.

With clinical training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, alongside yoga, meditation & a forthcoming MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality & Transpersonal Psychology, I bring a holistic, integrative approach to healing.
I'm a psychodynamic therapist with a particular interest in clients navigating existential, intimacy, or psychospiritual / wairua / soul challenges. You might be struggling with feeling disconnected or less connected than you'd like—from others, your partner, life, or yourself. Maybe you're wrestling with meaning, identity, or intimacy; feeling stuck, numb, or like you're going through the motions; longing for a deeper experience of aliveness, purpose, or belonging. Sometimes clients come to me not necessarily in crisis, but with a sense that something's missing—and a desire to explore that in a safe, professional, attuned space.

Using my training from psychology and transpersonal counselling, I use a 3-step process for working with clients: Step One: What's getting in the way of life for you?
Have you been feeling stuck or held back by limiting beliefs or unhelpful patterns in your life that are getting in the way of the life you had envisioned? Are you keen to improve your confidence, self-belief and feel happier with yourself? Are you ready to embrace "the true you" in order to make strides toward the life you want to create? If you're ready for change, get in touch.

I provide individual counselling and couples counselling, creating a space with the potential to clear the obstacles to happiness. My personal philosophy is that since most of our wounding occurs in relationship, there is the potential to heal that wounding within the counselling relationship. I provide support to develop distress tolerance and emotional resilience to prevent the overwhelm that can occur when facing life’s challenges. I work with people with a range of presenting issues including trauma, abuse, family violence, addiction, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and loss, including losing one’s way in life.

I work with people on their healing journey who are over 20yrs who are not finding meaning in their life struggles. It may be despondency, fear, difficulties in relationships, a lack of self-compassion and/or other issues that fuel their troubles. Within the therapeutic relationship we explore what's been previously unheard and unacknowledged to find a place of safety, ease and peace inside and out. Difficult feelings are signals to unmet needs, and together we explore and work through unfinished business and grief to arrive at needs being met, self-acceptance and previously untapped positive energy (prev as a Health Psychologist).

Transpersonal Counsellors

How does transpersonal therapy work?

Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualisation, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?

Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?

Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilise the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?

There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
