Kia ora, I'm Paola. In therapy, change comes in waves and cycles, like with the tides. I provide my clients a safe and professional environment to navigate those therapeutic tides in the smoothest way possible. I bring to the therapeutic process competence, clarity and clinical discernment for the client to be able to dive safely in the deep waters of personal transformation. Clients report that they experience tangible results as enhanced self-esteem and trust, reduced severity of symptoms as anxiety, depression, grief or mental confusion, and the restoring of their capacity for secure, and organized relationships, among others.

Kia ora, my name is Glen, I'm a fully qualified therapist with extensive training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) with IFSCA and have become part of their training team. I know it can be hard to find the right therapist. You are inviting someone into your inner world and that requires the courage to be vulnerable. It is a privilege to be part of my clients' journeys, it is sacred to me, and I value the opportunity greatly. Your courage to reach out and be vulnerable will be met safely and with respect, a space to be seen, heard and understood. A space where healing can happen.

Kia Ora, Hello, my name is Nicola. I believe that each person has their own story which shapes who they are. Through my work, I strive to foster a safe space where clients can tell their story, gain insight into their own strengths, and help them bring about a preferred future. I believe everyone deserves to experience success, that we all have the strength within ourselves to overcome adversity. It is for this reason I work mainly using a Solution Focused approach, along with CBT, ACT and some psychoeducation.

I work with adults who struggle with relationships, bullying, alcohol, anxiety, and depression. Often my clients have been abused sexually, survived domestic violence and/or neglect in their childhood. This means clients might find it hard to be in close relationships, have a sense of 'being hollow inside', constantly worry about 'getting it wrong', find it hard to say no, be constantly busy, feel angry or frustrated at others, feel 'flat and rudderless' in life, and/or self-soothe (eg alcohol) to make life easier. I am interested in helping people process their psychobiography to feel more at peace.

Often when things become stuck in our lives, when there is repeated conflict or situations we don’t want anymore, we come to a point where we want something to change. Talking to a counsellor can help move these situations and unlock stuck patterns or behaviours and open up a new way of looking at the world and being. Sometimes the things we want to share can feel frightening to say out loud, and we fear the judgement that saying these things will bring – this, for me, is a huge part of the benefit of counselling and what it offers people.

I work with children and adults using Art therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Interactive Drawing Technique (IDT) with a parts approach, talk therapy, somatic methods, mindfulness and sand tray. I find these modalities, within a supportive therapeutic relationship, help people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, attachment and relationship struggles and who need to recover from traumatic experiences.

I adopt a collaborative approach with clients to determine goals, working in a strengths based manner. The client-centred approach built on the premise that clients are the experts in their own life and possess the inherent ability to create solutions and understanding, underpins my practice. I use various modalities that fits with the specific client and their presenting issues. In this regard, I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), practice solution focused therapy (SFT), and family Systems approach.

I am both a clinical psychologist and organisation strategist. I work with individuals and organisations, including in the cross-over area between personal and professional wellbeing and career issues. I have experience in many different high-pressure organisations in many sectors: health, public, nonprofit, entrepreneurial and startups. I work face to face and online with people from all walks of life. Recent client feedback on my work: 'I was quite astounded with how spot on you were with being able to articulate what was going on for me'. I use a practical approach based on using the best current evidence about what works.

My office is in a field with my herd of horses. My purpose is guiding others to healthier and happier ways of 'being' in this world. This includes increasing resiliency by expanding one's window of tolerance to weather the ebbs and flows through self-regulation, connection and relationship. My equine partners do this naturally, so working from a trauma-informed perspective, I prioritize establishing safety and trust, by providing a non-judgemental, nurturing environment.
