About
As a clinical arts therapist (AThR) I offer adolescents and adults an alternative to talk therapy and counselling through creative expression. Arts therapists can offer a variety of approaches such as art, movement, drama, writing, poetry, and sandplay. I work mostly with art materials but we are not limited to this form of expression. Clinical arts therapists in New Zealand are professional members of the Australian New Zealand Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association and are approved to provide services for agencies like ACC, WINZ, Oranga Tamariki and I Am Hope.
I help people who are struggling to feel fulfilled and content in their day to day life. When we can’t find the words to talk about our concerns arts therapy offers a way to begin healing and releasing the things that trouble us through being creative. Being good at art is not important in arts therapy - the process is our focus not the product.
