Hi, I am a registered clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist living and practicing in Nelson, New Zealand. My primary focus is providing psychotherapy. Psychotherapy involves the careful application of techniques that help people change their behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and other personal characteristics in ways that enable them to thrive and cope with the stresses of living. I prefer to work with clients in person but if meeting in person is impossible or impractical, I can provide services online.
Most people come to treatment to relieve suffering as quickly as possible. Early in treatment we usually focus on relief of the most troubling symptoms. As people become aware of how lifelong personality issues affect their ability to experience intimacy and accept and appreciate themselves, many choose to continue treatment.
I am conscious of the cost of psychotherapy and the impact of this expense upon my customers. I will provide you with an honest appraisal of whether I can be of help to you and an estimate of the number of sessions required. I don’t benefit financially by prolonging services. It is my goal to work myself out of a job.
