I have lived and worked in many different cultures and enjoy working with people from all over the world. I am LGBTQI+ friendly. I encourage clients to work at a comfortable pace and start where they like. When possible I facilitate clients to use their body sensations, memories and images in a creative form of self-discovery called Focusing (Gendlin). I use Brainspotting (Grand) to enable clients to reprocess trauma, anxiety and stuck experiences at the subcortical level. Rather than talk about problems, I work with the neurobiology of the limbic system. This allows people to change habits, overcome fear and enhance their lives.

I frequently work with the following clients - teenagers, university students, and adults. Are feeling stuck within yourself, or your relationship with a loved one is strained and when you try and resolve it, the relationship actually gets worse rather than better? Are feeling angry, sad or unfulfilled with your life and are ready for a positive chang? I understand that challenges come up in work, in relationships, or inside of ourselves and I listen and share with you some new tools and perspectives to deal with your emotions and situations in a much more positive and helpful way.

In our current world people are expected to enter into a competitive and turbulent world of rapid changes. Skills that are needed would be flexibility, versatility, innovation, creativity, self motivation (to enable a person to make his or her own choices and act on them) social skills (this includes respecting one self as well as understanding and respecting others and their values and cultures), emotionally competent (to be compassionate towards others, to understand and manage uncomfortable emotions), courage and coand confidence (to be responsible to be able to learn from their mistakes and to keep on trying).

How lovely to find me, I’m Specialist Therapist Joy, and I’ve been in the industry for a decade now. I invest a lot into research, and into integrative healthcare, and am Harvard Medical School Educated. Distress doesn’t discriminate, and mental health exists for everyone. I’ve been a client and clinician in both public and private health, and both have virtues and vices, however I thrive in the diversity of being Internationally Licensed. I invest excellence back into my clients, and am highly empathic. Fascinated by how and why, and if you’re feeling scared to reach out-I felt scared when I needed help too. Quality care provided!
