Grief & loss, relationships, anxiety, addiction, children & young people, families
Kia ora & welcome, my name is Anna & I have been counselling since 2017. I am passionate about supporting people of all ages to take care of their mental & emotion wellness & to live life to the full. If you are struggling with a personal or relational issue or maybe you are facing an obstacle for the first time, having the space to breathe & to be deeply heard is like receiving one of life's greatest gifts. Often times, the therapeutic space is just what is needed to discover a new truth or insight that was not obvious to you before you reached out for support.

Children don’t always have the words to express how they feel but they show us through their play. I offer a warm, safe space where children can express big emotions, make sense of their experiences, and feel more settled and understood. Using play therapy I support children aged 5–12 who may be struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, behavioural challenges, ADHD, autism, or life changes. Together, we gently build emotional regulation, resilience, and a stronger sense of self at their pace.

In addition to individual therapy, I lead various groups in-person or online, offering psychoeducation and skills for regulating emotions, coping with anxiety, communicating effectively, relationship skills and boundary setting, and an introductory group with an Internal Family Systems informed framework to begin to get to know ourselves from this perspective.
Many people hesitate to seek therapy, thinking, "I don't have it that bad," or "Maybe the therapist will think I shouldn’t be there." With over 20 years in practice, I can assure you, there is never a person who couldn’t benefit from a safe, non-judgmental space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and life journey. I honor the courage it takes for anyone to embark on the path of self-discovery and healing, creating an opportunity for deeper understanding of who you truly are. Together, we will consider your unique experiences and work to bring peace and clarity to whatever challenges you are facing.

I also have a strong interest in working with eating disorders, grief, identity, self esteem/worth, anxiety, depression and healthy relationships.
Do you need someone safe, empathetic and genuine to speak with? Someone who is not in your usual circle, so can offer a different outlook on problems? Someone who understands life is not easy and has many challenges along the way? I enjoy working with people who have either long term or short term challenges or goals, working towards a better understanding of themselves. Perhaps life has got you down, and you are not sure where to start in your journey of reclaiming life. That is when you may find a counsellor is someone to help you through these challenges - to support you, be honest with, and to help you reach your goals.

Kia ora koutou. I’m Sofia, originally from Argentina and grateful to call Aotearoa home. I support children, teens, adults and families navigating trauma, grief, sexual violence, domestic abuse, and relationship challenges. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens in connection — when people feel seen, safe, and supported to make meaning of their experiences. My work is relational and holistic, integrating attachment-based, trauma-informed and systemic approaches

There can be burnout, anxiety around change, relationship strain, or a sense that things are harder than they should be.
I work from a relational and psychodynamic basis, with an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as a space where patterns can be understood and worked through over time. Alongside this, I draw on trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR and somatic awareness when experiences feel overwhelming, fragmented, or difficult to verbalise.

People struggling with emotional distress - whether it be anxiety, depression, adjustment dysregulation, relational injury or loss, failing to thrive or feel satisfied with your life.
Welcome. People come to therapy for a number of reasons and most want relief from suffering, emotional symptoms, inability to thrive or feel satisfied, overwhelm or stuckness. With my 20+ years of experience as a registered psychotherapist I offer evidence based tools (backed up by my interest in current neuroscience and wellness science), to help reduce your current discomfort. Alongside this we start to look at how life long patterns/ideas of self are limiting your ability to thrive and feel truly authentic/seen and we carefully rewrite some of these narratives to help you live a more equipped, authentic, satisfied life.
