Roy J. Eidelson, Ph.D., has been a practicing clinical, research, and political psychologist for over forty years. He is a member of the Coalition for an Ethical Psychology, where along with colleagues he has been an outspoken advocate in opposing torture and restoring psychology’s commitment to do-no-harm ethics. His latest book — Doing Harm: How the World’s Largest Psychological Association Lost Its Way in the War on Terror — has been described by McGill-Queen’s University Press as “A thought-provoking, unflinching, scrupulously documented account of one of the darkest chapters in the recent history of psychology.” Dr. Eidelson is also the former executive director of the Solomon Asch Center for Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict at the University of Pennsylvania and a past president of Psychologists for Social Responsibility.
