Marilyn Price-Mitchell Ph.D.
Marilyn Price-Mitchell is a researcher, speaker, author, and Fellow at the Institute for Social Innovation at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA. She has a Ph.D. in human development and an M.A. in human and organizational systems from Fielding. Her undergraduate degree, in sociology, comes from the University of Michigan. Her research and practice focuses on child and adolescent development, youth civic engagement, and how families, schools, and communities build partnerships that benefit youth. She created ParentNet®, a school-based initiative that engages parents and educators in discussions about cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Dr. Price-Mitchell is author of Tomorrow’s Change Makers: Reclaiming the Power of Citizenship for a New Generation. She is founder of Roots of Action, a website that shares research-based articles and resources on K-12 positive youth development for parents, teachers, and youth mentors.
