J. Russell Ramsay, Ph.D., is a psychologist with an independent virtual practice. Before retiring from his role as a professor of clinical psychology in the department of psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, he was co-founder and co-director of Penn’s Adult ADHD Treatment & Research Program. He is a board-certified cognitive-behavioral therapist.

Ramsay has authored numerous peer-reviewed professional and scientific articles, research abstracts, and book chapters. He is the author of several books related to the understanding and treatment of adult ADHD. His Adult ADHD Tool Kit has been translated into Spanish, French, and Korean, and is in the process of being translated to German; it has been designated as a recommended self-help book by the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. His most recent book is Rethinking Adult ADHD.

Ramsay is an inductee in the CHADD Hall of Fame and received the Szuba Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching & Research from the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Attention Disorders and is sought out as an ad hoc reviewer for many other journals. He has served terms on the Boards or Professional Advisory Boards of most of the major ADHD-related organizations.
