Mona Sue Weissmark, Ph.D., is a clinical and social psychologist, and award-winning professor, and researcher whose work on diversity and the psychological roots of injustice has received global recognition. She is the author of Justice Matters (Oxford University Press), Doing Psychotherapy Effectively (University of Chicago Press), and The Science of Diversity (Oxford University Press). The founder and former director of the Program Initiative for Global Mental Health Studies at the Buffett Institute for Global Studies at Northwestern University, and The Center for Social Justice in Chicago, and President and Founder of GWG Enterprises, LLC. Weissmark teaches the course 'Psychology of Diversity' and conducts research on the science of diversity and social justice at Harvard University.

Her research focuses on polarized groups, and how to improve relationships and facilitate meaningful conversations using the scientific method. She is best known for her groundbreaking social experiment of bringing children of Holocaust survivors face-to-face with children of Nazis at Harvard University, and later, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of African American slaves with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of slave owners. Her research on the psychology of injustice has been applied to conflicts in Israel, South Africa, Northern Ireland, Bosnia, and Rwanda.

She completed a three-year postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard University and received her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and her B.Ed. from McGill University.

Weissmark's work has been featured on Dateline, the CBS Morning News, and PBS, and in the New York Times, the Guardian, the Jerusalem Report, JUF News, Harvard Magazine, Psychology Today, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the Harvard University Gazette, the Psychiatric Times, and the Chicago Sun Times. Her book Justice Matters was made into a documentary television film that aired on German television WDR.
