Alice LoCicero Ph.D.

Alice LoCicero, Ph.D., is president-elect of the Alameda County (CA) Psychological Association, and past president of the Society for the Study of Peace and Conflict (Division 48 of the American Psychological Association). A researcher, scholar, clinician and social justice advocate, she is also past-president of the Society for Terrorism Research, and the author of Why Good Kids Turn Into Deadly Terrorists: Deconstructing the Boston Marathon Bombers and Others Like Them and Creating Young Martyrs: Conditions that Make Dying in a Terrorist Attack Seem Like a Good Idea. Her recent scholarship has documented the costs of U.S. counterterrorism policies and the American Psychological Association’s alliance with the U.S. military.
