I have traded over a billion dollars in stocks since 2008, profitably. I have read thousands of pages on the markets and watched thousands of expert interviews. Talk about gender differences is rare; if it were true that women are better investors the Wall Street banks would hire many more women. It seems to be invalid to say that women are more rational investors than men. Men and women buy and sell stocks at the same prices. If anything, men have larger Wall Street performance bonuses than women. It may be true that people who don't follow markets are more likely to buy and hold than become a trader, and women would fall into that category. There also is the issue of risk tolerance. Finally, it is not true that it is more rational to buy and hold than to trade.
