Forced apologies give the apologizer an easy way out. "Say you're sorry and all is forgiven." No. He needs to listen to the offended/hurt party about injury received; he needs to own what he did, whether sorry for it of not; he needs to make amends for injury done. If after this he is TRULY sorry he can say so. The injured party then has choice to forgive or not. Apology and forgiveness are only worthwhile if sincere.
