Dr. Jeffrey Bernstein describes three signs that you might be in a toxic relationship andI can accept those three with the understanding that there are many more signs that one might be in a toxic relationship. What I would've like to see Dr. Bernstein describe more is that the signs he points out should be used to seek help rather than wait until one or both partners decide to give up and not try to resolve the relationship. At GoVa Hawaii Counseling Center we have psychologists who specialize in couples counseling. Our psychologists focus on resolving the problems causing the toxicity and not just resolving the symptoms. Dr. Bernstein points out three definite signs of dysfunction. What I would've liked the article to mention is that there is help available that can work to actually illuminate the toxicity.
