You are right, but don’t use ‘experience’ for justification! According to Cognitive Continuum Theory, thinking is on a continuum between intuitive judgment and reflective judgment at either pole. No one is ever all reflective, nor are they ever all intuitive. To be able to think critically, as you suggest, we need to move further away from intuitive judgment (e.g. biases, heuristics, emotions and beliefs) and closer to reflective judgment.
