There you have it in a nutshell. A label was attached arbitrarily to a certain package of behaviors and "it caught on". That's what they call science here. They apply this nonsense to everything, giving more and more labels to things they don't understand. They think you learn to be dysfunctional, for no apparent reason, and can unlearn it by some silly eye blinking exercises. The sheer stupidity involved in saying something like there is “an increased risk of developing anxiety disorders in anxiety-prone individuals when exposed to aversive stimuli” is mind boggling. They can't even see it. Anxious people tend to have all the attributes that we give to anxious people. You don't say.
