Human beings are biological creatures. our inner lives are real. But they are logically dependent on our outer lives. Instead of asking what kinds of inner-life are mal-adaptive, we should instead ask what genetic and environmental influences lead to maladaptive behaviors, and what conditioning can undue those behaviors.
