If you find a sport that you enjoy enough that you look forward to it and would do it even if you were the last person on earth, then motivation isn’t so much an issue. I’ve been a cyclist for 25 years, and I ride without music, meters, or other distractions. I enjoy finding my rhythm, listening to my body, and letting my mind work freely. It’s good to be outdoors, in the wind, heat, cold, and hills, and I often return with new ideas or insights. For others, another activity such as paddling or walking might be the thing, but so long as it’s convenient and stress-relieving, then it will be that much easier to go do regularly.
