Indeed. I read comments and articles posted on-line that lead me to believe that the authors never completed third grade. Particularly difficult, it seems, is the difference between a possessive and a contraction, not to mention the "terrible twos" (a perfect trifecta of them). I hope that your article enjoys wide readership, but I won't hold my breath for change. Perhaps all of the comments that I read are posted by people who have not yet entered third grade?
