So, in a nutshell:
Freud's daughter was a lesbian ----> Freud dislikes lesbians.
We all have our flaws I guess.
So you're not a "10" in every which way. But you're probably pretty spectacular in some way, and definitely good enough in most areas of life. If ever there were a time to stop beating yourself up for being human, it is now.

December 3 is the 120th anniversary of Anna Freud's birth. She was a profoundly influential child psychoanalyst. Still, her main claim to fame was as Sigmund Freud's daughter. What most people don't know about Anna Freud is that it may have been particularly difficult for her to be Sigmund's favorite child. How and why was that the case?
All this being said, compared with his contemporaries, Sigmund Freud was indeed a compassionate, forward-thinking physician. He became a doctor at a time when lesbianism and masturbation were considered symptoms of hysteria. Most doctors treated hysteria with opiates, ovariectomies, and clitoridectomies. Freud profoundly misunderstood lesbianism, but he treated “hysterical” women by talking to them. He urged patients to look inside themselves and marvel at what they found. As problematic as details of his life and theory were, his idea that physical illnesses can be caused by emotions was a remarkable advance for humankind.

Homosexuality was an illness in the dsm until when??? And transgenderism is still considered a disorder, please correct me if I am wrong.
Transgenderism isn't even comparable to homosexuality.
Thanks for writing. As of May 22, 2013 the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual refers to gender identity disorder rather than gender identity dysphoria. This means that identifying as a different gender is not pathological but painful. Distress can be recognized and treated.

We still don't understand homosexuality. Because the U.S. is a capitalist, and therefore, individualistic, society, we're all too happy to leave it at "born that way" for homosexuality. To imply any other possible origin, we'd have to look at our society and culture, i.e., our collective character, and that would open up a can of worms capitalism would rather we wouldn't.
It is true the research being done on homosexuality is not reaching the public, but this is due to leftist authoritarian's censoring all media these days. People are still doing the research.
Sadly it is hard research to conduct and nothing concrete is ever found. However there is some evidence to indicate that male homosexuality is very much a case of "born this way", and female homosexuality is very often (but not always) a product of your environment.
Maybe this explains the popular joke among gays, "there is no such thing as lesbians".
One thing we do know with certainty is that gays cannot then become straight. It can't be "fixed" and it shouldn't be tried.
Ah, yet more lesbophobia. Get lost.
Freud made some interesting contributions, the main one, in my point of view, being to "amoralize" (getting morality out of) the field of psychology. But overall, his theory (psychoanalysis) is fraudulous and should be put where it belongs, i.e. in a museum of pseudo-sciences, alongside astrology, homeopathy and so on.
This article was hilarious and at the same time a crockpot full of horsepiss. Hey here's a thought "I enjoy stalking people from a far so hopefully one day I can capture one, torture them, kill them and drink their blood...rinse then repeat." Why you ask? Well because I was born that way...I do not truly have control over my behavior and lack empathy like other "normal" humans. I can just plead insanity and get off a murder trial and do my time in a mental health facility where I will be "healed" *cough* "fixed" to return back to our beautiful society. Thanks intelligent scientists for continuing to lead us in the right direction or should I say monkeys since that where we are from right. I wonder what we will come up with next.
Freud never thought the homosexuality as an illness. Prouve of it, there is a letter for a mother who contact him for change his homosexuality and Freud answer her that he cant do anything for that but for make him happier in other sens of life and she wouldnt be ashamed of. Please read Freud before talking, its important.
Freud was a selfish attention-seeking person who despised his patients as "riff-raff" until he managed to deceive the upper echelons of society into paying him vast sums in order to treat them. Even the case of Anna O on whom he founded his psychoanalytic theory of hysteria was actually suffering from morphine addiction and her symptoms were typical of that, not "hysteria". At least two of his patients died under his "treatments" which mainly relied on cocaine thereby exacerbating their morphine addictions, and another killed herself shortly after seeing him. None of the families of these patients respected Freud at all, and one of his patients accused him of only attending for the money which was true. Sorry, but the idea that he was "compassionate" is a lie.
