Q: I suffer from asthma. Whenever I have an attack I'm flooded with panicand anxiety. My doctor says it's because I'm not getting enough oxygen. He prescribed sprays, but I don't like their side effects. Any other suggestions?
A: Asthma is an inflammatory disease that responds very well to alternative treatments. One of the most potent anti-inflammatory supplements for asthma is FISH OIL, and I've found that it works very well in my patients. It takes from six to 12 weeks of daily supplements for patients to notice a marked improvement. That's how long it takes for the oils to be absorbed into your inflamed cells and actually help heal them. A recent study reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that the fatty acids in fish oil, known as OMEGA-3s, work like new asthma drugs, reducing inflammatory substances called leukotrines by more than 75 percent in studies.
