Tara is a Tralee and Killarney based MIACP psychotherapist with a medical background in general nursing. Her personal and theoretical counselling philosophy is grounded in her belief that the client (and all people) are inherently driven towards and have the capacity for growth, thriving and self actualisation. She is trauma informed and has done further training in the areas of fertility counselling, grief and loss studies, CBT for menopause, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and EMDR. She provides supports, tools and relational safety to help clients go from surviving to living a more fulfilled life.
We do the best that we can with the tools and resources that we have. We normalise to this way of living but may have a lot going on in our inner world, feelings of always being 'other', or always being in crisis. We don't know there is another way to survive in the world until we do. When we know different, we do different, we show up different, we heal.
Counselling can offer a space to experiment and get curious about how you are experiencing your life and what pain you may be carrying. You don't have to hold it all alone. I can help you reconnect with your own autonomy, power and wisdom.
