I am a pre-accredited humanistic integrative therapist with an honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Cork Counselling Services, validated by Coventry University. I work under the ethical framework of the IACP, of which I am a member. My training was blended, balancing theory with practical experience. It was rooted in models such as the person-centred approach, existentialism and gestalt therapy. The integrative approach means I draw from many techniques, depending upon the needs of the person sitting in front of me. I have experience working with trauma, grief, abuse, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues.
The person-centred approach views the client as the expert on their own life and well-being. In my practice, I act as a facilitator and mirror in which we work together to develop the insight and awareness that is necessary to bring about change and healing. I view therapy as something that is done collaboratively with clients rather than to them.
We live in a fast paced world that can often feel overwhelming. Therapy can offer a safe and confidential space in which one can reflect on their experiences and the impact of such. In my work I provide a non-judgemental place where one can take the time to explore their way of being, their relationships with others and their relationship with themselves.
