About
Upon finishing college I thought of the many needa of potential clients. As a result of this I spent a year working in a drug & alcohol addiction centre. Gaining the experience & knowledge necessary to treat people during & after recovery for addiction. I soon discovered that regardless of the presenting issue most clients presented with having experienced some form of trauma. I then went on to study Traumatology & PTSD. Currently working in the therapeutic setting with families of those with disabilities.
The area of disabilities is something that is very close to my heart. Realising that in a family where some one may have a disability it is often the carer/parent that is often not taken off. I support those experiencing this in their daily lives. Discussing their needs & feelings.
I wish to support the carers/parents of those with disabilities. Seeing their needs outside their daily roles as caregivers. Allowing them time & encouragement to explore themselves & their specific needs.
