Addiction or misuse; whether it's by way of gambling or substances..you are looking to make changes and getting counselling can make the big difference. I blend addiction counselling and pscyhotherapy so I can help you through the really difficult ups and downs of understanding and changing addictive behaviours. I can help you practically with residential treatment information, with aftercare from residential treatment or with helping you to make these changes whilst you continue to work or study.
I work with you, as a whole person. I work from the perspective that you're struggling in the relationship with yourself, and this struggle is acting out in many different ways, for eg. by mis-using a substance or gambling or by feeling very anxious or over thinking. Therapy involves acknowledging what your needs are today and going from there..
It can seem like a dark tunnel at the beginning. You can feel so much guilt, shame and confusion in yourself. Over time allow yourself to open up what's going on inside.
