Some of the therapies I like to incorporate are Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
I’ve always had a natural curiosity about people and an empathy for others which is most likely the reason why I chose to work in the area of Counselling and Psychotherapy. There is something very special about witnessing someone grow and develop their understanding of themselves. The therapeutic relationship formed with clients is one I hold with high regard and is both a delicate and powerful piece of our work together. My hope in our sessions is to facilitate a safe space for clients to heal and integrate all parts of themselves.

I use a variety of approaches including psychodynamic, person centred, cognitive behavioural and mindfulness, depending on which is most suitable for you.
We all face challenges at various moments in our lifetime. When challenges arise at times of low resilience, they can feel overwhelming. Seeking professional support is a positive step that can help you to find your way through these difficulties. Therapy also provides a space where you can come to deepen your understanding of yourself which in turn can strengthen your relationships and enhance your life experience. I am a professionally qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with an honours degree in Holistic Counselling & Psychotherapy.

I offer integrative or holistic therapy. I blend elements from different approaches and tailor treatment according to individual needs. That includes: Gestalt therapy - (the importance of being aware of the here and now), Psychodynamic therapy - (changing problematic behaviours, feelings, and thoughts), Cognitive therapy - (changing our thoughts, to change how we feel and what we do) and Existential therapy - (exploring free will, self-determination and the search for meaning).

As a pluralistic Therapist, I have been trained in a broad range of therapeutic approaches including humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive therapy.
I am an Irish psychotherapist working with clients on either a short term or long-term basis depending on their needs. My approach to treatment is very much guided by the client. I don't believe there is a one-size-fits-all form of therapy. I am here to assist whether you are feeling the need for a journey of transformation, for balance in the middle of chaos, or for a connection between your body, mind, and soul. I believe that healing is always possible. Let's work together to rewrite your story, overcome obstacles, and bring about long-lasting, beneficial change. Take the first step toward positive change and get in touch.

I draw on schema therapy, ACT, DBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy approaches.
Sometimes you might find yourself being really sensitive and feeling overwhelmed with emotions that are coming out of nowhere, often flying off the handle, or being tearful and upset. You might not be feeling yourself, like you are carrying a huge weight and you don’t know what it is or why. It might be that you feel really tense, and ‘on-edge’ and it’s difficult to relax. It can also be that you feel totally shut-off from others, detached and disconnected, feeling empty and numb. Life has lost its colour. Others constantly feel guilty, find it really hard to say no to others, and live in a constant state of never being good enough.

I am an integrative Psychotherapist using person-centred, CBT, existential, gestalt and psychodynamic approaches.
Therapy is food for the soul ! You can disclose what you feel comfortable talking about at your own pace in a confidential, safe, private space. Many people come to therapy to help with current struggles or past experiences, but many also attend just to maintain a good mindset. Each person’s life experience is different and as we know sometimes it can be challenging, therefore talking can help to clear our minds, uncover our struggles, and understand our emotions. Therapy can be challenging, but it can also be very rewarding. Everyone deserves to be heard and supported. Looking forward to meeting you :)

Therapist's job is not "fixing". Instead, I would like to hear your story, how does it feel to be you, in your own words. My core belief is that there is nothing wrong with people, although many often feel otherwise. My philosophy comes from exploring what actually happened in a person’s life that after years of pain and hurt they feel broken. Each story is unique and deserves to be heard, but only when you are ready. And once you are able to take that step, I will be here to support you on your healing journey.

My aim in therapy is to connect with the person, allowing them to feel safe and heard, supporting them to make sense of their lives. I provide a calm and comfortable space for people to explore their difficulties, using evidence-based theory to structure and support their emerging story. This allows us to work together to gently and safely unravel tangled elements of the past, freeing the person to move forward into the future they see for themselves.

You may be looking for some sort of change in your life. That change could be physical or emotional. My work is based on the belief that if we want to create change in our lives, we must look within. To find out who we really are, we need to go inwards, challenge old beliefs, thoughts and behaviours, which can feel like moving away from everything we’ve ever known. I help my clients to see the connections between mind and body, to identify unhelpful patterns, establish new habits and ultimately live a happier life.

Are you a professional woman in her 30s? Are you very busy and would like to do therapy in your time and in the comfort of your own home or office. Typically women come to me because they are feeling exhausted or overwhelmed. They are working very hard, life is super busy and they are unsure of what they want from life. They know there is more to life but can't figure it out, they often feel stuck. They procrastinate and constantly worry finding it hard to make a decision. Life has not turned out how they may have imagined and managing how they are feeling can be difficult.

There are times when life can become overwhelming - you may feel depressed or anxious, have a sense of being stuck or lost. Events like an accident, a bereavement, an illness, a separation can leave us traumatised and challenge our ability to cope. Or you had certain experiences, a 'Near Death' or other 'Spiritual Transformative Experiences' (NDEs/STEs) that you cannot explain and don't feel comfortable to share with family and friends. Maybe there is a niggling feeling that something is missing in your life and you want to dive deeper and learn to understand deeper layers of your psyche through dreams and symbols.

I have been in practice for 13 years, I aspire to provide an inclusive, non-judgemental safe space for my clients to work through their issues. The therapy that I offer is based on the belief that people who come for therapy are experts on their own lives(even if they don't feel like they are!) who have lots of potentially good ideas about how to deal with their problems. One of my roles is to help you make the best of your own experience and understanding. If you would like further information on my practice I invite you to view my website.

Most clients are looking for some insight into how to manage their life and relationships better, and find a way to change what's not working for them. Providing a safe confidential setting to explore those feelings is what psychotherapy is about. It's not easy sharing a difficult personal history. Some people are exhausted by the time they come to therapy, but sharing can give a clearer prospective. A therapist can help with providing possibilities to make the changes you need. Understanding of why we feel the way we do, can help us navigate those emotions manage ourselves better and improve our relationships and quality of life.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and it can be hard to know who to talk to, and what to say. Does this feel familiar to you? My main aim is to listen with empathy and to form a deep relationship within which healing can occur. I will endeavour to understand so that you feel heard and will create a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences fully.

Psychodynamic Counsellors

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?

Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.

How long does psychodynamic therapy last?

Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.

Does psychodynamic therapy work?

Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.

What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?

Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
