I complete educational assessments- to screen for dyslexia, dyscalculia and general intellectual ability . I refer on for further assessment, where appropriate , if there are indicators for autism, Adhd, dyspraxia or other challenges which need addressing.
My reports contain recommendations which will support the child/teenager to access the curriculum and attain the level they are capable of academically. Protecting a young persons self esteem, and their self confidence, is I believe of great importance when they are struggling with challenges educationally - be they academic, emotional or behavioural .
As well as educational assessments ( as an Educational psychologist) I am also an accredited Gestalt psychotherapist and supervisor . I provide supervision to trainees, pre accredited and experienced psychotherapists. I have over 30 years experience and it’s an area I really enjoy working in .
I have considerable experience in supporting people navigate their lives in an easier way. Enabling them to find ways to manage life’s major challenges which can cause such distress, sadness , fear and anger . I feel I can support people in a safe and caring space to feel these difficult feelings - and allow themselves be true to who they really are .
