About
Starting the counseling process is like deciding to take a road trip into parts unknown. Some parts of the journey will be familiar because you’d gone through them in your mind before and some will be foreign. The journey inward can be tiring, emotional and frustrating but also cathartic, and the feeling of achievement only grows with each new step into the unknown. The counselor is your tour guide who is there to give you directions on your journey and gently guide your expeditions, keeping you company when the road gets rough.
By adopting an integrated approach, I use counseling techniques from the humanistic and psychodynamic approach such as talk therapy, CBT and brief solution-focused therapy techniques. I have worked with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, self-belief system issues, loss, bereavement, interpersonal relationships, etc.
I believe that collaboration and cultivation of a safe, open, judgment-free and productive environment are key to allowing honest self-discovery and eliciting a positive change in our lives. We all deserve to give ourselves the time for reflection and recovery and, by doing so, to find a way to reach our full potential.
