A client describes her experience of therapy: 'For the first time I felt heard and understood. My feelings and thoughts were of importance and I felt accepted and validated in being me. No one had ever told me that it was okay to have my own experiences, to be sad, angry, frustrated, etc. And now through the experience of therapy I can accept who I am and I am embracing change in new and exciting ways'. Underpinning all my work is the belief that change and healing can only take place within relationship and within and through the experience of the therapeutic encounter an individual comes home to their true potential
Since qualifying, I have completed post graduate training in Gestalt therapy, Integrative Bodywork and Trauma work using a sensorimotor approach. This approach blends cognitive and emotional approaches and somatic interventions that directly address the effects of trauma on the body and on the individual’s relationship with self and others.
“Sometimes our light goes out but is blown into flame by an encounter with another human being” Thoreau. Coming to therapy can be a daunting experience and yet it is through this very experience we find the support we need to challenge the things that keep us from moving forward with our lives and we find the resources to blossom into who we are meant to be.
