Most of the people I see are dealing with something they haven't been able to sort out on their own. It might be anxiety that won't quite settle, the weight of things that happened a long time ago still showing up in everyday life, a relationship that keeps running into the same painful wall, or a sense that what used to get you through isn't working anymore. What they have in common is a wish to understand themselves better and to feel more settled, in themselves and with the people around them. I offer a space that is warm and unhurried, but also thoughtful and considered, where you can bring whatever you need to.
What makes therapy work, more than anything else, is feeling heard and understood by someone professionally trained to do so. That is where I start. The relationship between us is the heart of the work, and I bring in whatever else helps along the way. The aim is to help things feel a bit less heavy, a bit clearer, and more like a life you want to be living.
Contacting a therapist for the first time can feel like a big step, particularly if you have managed alone up to now. It is also one of the more decisive things a person can do for themselves. You don't need to know where to begin or have it all worked out; that's what the early sessions are for. When you feel ready, I will be happy to hear from you.
