My name is Lisa Gallagher. I am an accredited psychotherapist practising online and also in person in D15. I work with adults, children, teens and couples.
I have always believed in the resilience of the human spirit and I trust in everyone’s potential to create a balance of autonomy and interconnection in order to contend with life’s challenges. I have worked with the full range of human experience, however grief and trauma have become areas of particular importance.
I feel honoured to sit with people in these intense emotional experiences and to help them feel less alone and overwhelmed by their pain.
I work from an Integrative style, using different therapeutic modalities, including; Humanistic, Attachment-Based, ACT and DBT. This allows me to work collaboratively with my clients to identify their strengths and preferences in order to find the best fit. I offer help in a way that can be challenging, research informed, structured, and also compassionate.
Grief is love looking for a home. Anxiety is prompting us to take action. Loss tells us what we need. Depression notes something is missing in our lives. If we can pay attention to these messages, it shows us what to seek going forward. Through creating consciousness, safety in our bodies, learning new skills and being compassionately witnessed, we can heal.
