Laura holds an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Boston University and an MA in Culture and Colonialism from the University of Galway. She is interested in the intersections of culture and psychology and is currently working on doctoral research in that area. Aside from psychotherapy with individuals, Laura has worked as a counsellor in a variety of settings within community mental health for over 20 years. She has experience treating most issues, as well as working with folks from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. She strives to provide a welcoming, supportive, judgement-free environment for all.
As an MSW psychotherapist, Laura is interested in culturally-competent, holistic care. She specializes in neuroscience-informed, culturally-responsive, trauma-informed treatment. Laura is trained in a variety of modalities, but uses an eclectic approach to tailor treatment to each individual according to their needs, strengths, resources and goals.
Not only will she focus on your inner landscape, but she will also pay attention to your physical health; environment; the current effects of your personal/family history going back generations; as well as the effects of larger, overlying social and economic systems. Laura is currently available solely via telehealth and works with folks ages 16+.
