I am a trained Psychotherapist based in Roscommon town, I hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy and I’m pre-accredited with the IACP. I use predominantly person-centered humanistic counselling although this varies depending on the client’s needs. To supplement the person-centered approach, I also use psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which is very effective for dealing with intrusive and troubling thoughts. For some clients with childhood trauma the option is there to apply inner-child-work to support and help heal the emotional connections to these memories.
Having anxious thoughts is exhausting. Understanding where your anxiety comes from or what triggers your anxiety is the beginning of working with anxious thoughts. I use mindfulness, grounding and gentle exploration to guide you through your experiences.
Many people endure depression that goes beyond normal fluctuations in mood that most people experience, this can significantly impact a person’s daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. There are many ways to deal with depression, I find CBT is very effective guided by the Person-Centered approach.
