I work with adults who may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or caught in patterns they are finding difficult to change. Some clients come to therapy because of addiction, alcohol or substance use, gambling, pornography or sexual addiction. Others may be struggling with relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, shame, bereavement, family conflict, work-related stress, or a sense of feeling disconnected from themselves. Often, people appear to be coping on the outside while feeling very different inside.

Hi, I’m Sam. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy as well as a Professional Diploma in Trauma Informed Psychotherapy, and Professional Certificates in Couples Counselling and Adolescent Psychotherapy (age 12+). I’m a fully accredited member of the IACP. Helping to empower and resource my clients is at the heart of what I do and is facilitated by the safe space I provide for self-discovery and introspection. I place an emphasis on forming strong relationships with all of my clients through non-judgement, empathy and understanding. I draw from many theoretical models to best suit the needs of each individual client.

Do you feel that you have nowhere or nobody to talk to or to express your feelings to? Do you want the freedom to explore your thoughts in a safe place with a kind ear. Are you struggling or do you have worries that you cannot express to the ones closest to you? I work with clients that want to feel safe to explore and talk freely about what is happening for them. There are no judgements or criticisms in my work.

Feeling low, anxious, over-analyzing, being detached, feeling lost, feeling guilty, having a strong critical voice, having relationship problems, being told you are over-sensitive-these are all issues we can look at in-depth. You may have a diagnosis but it is usually much more helpful to look at a formulation or map of your difficulties. I am passionate about working with people who want to really understand what is contributing to their difficulties, and want to engage in experiential work to deeply address these. I specialise in Schema Therapy as it not only seeks to bring deep understanding, but also deep healing.
