As a fully Accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), I provide both short term and long term counselling in a confidential and safe environment. I practice in an integrative way, combining various theoretical approaches that aid in my ability to support you in whatever problems you may bring to therapy such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, self-esteem issues, anger issues and relationship problems.
I have a special interest in working with trauma, complicated and prolonged grief, suicide prevention/intervention and postvention, abuse, addiction. I hold a Diploma in Trauma Informed Psychotherapy (IACP accredited) and utilise the learning from this, especially polyvagal theory and mindfulness-based and compassion-based practices in my clinical practice.
I am an existential/humanistic therapist at heart, in guiding you to search and find meaning and purpose in your life. I lean towards using Choice Theory to help you to explore your wants, possible things you can do, opportunities for self-evaluation, design plans to promote change, clarify, and encourage your choice of goals and support those goals.
