Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is ideally suited to clients who are undergoing a certain amount of mental suffering, and are motivated to do the slow, demanding work of finding out what has given rise to it. Clients may use therapy to talk about distressing experiences they have recently or not so recently undergone, dilemmas or difficult decisions they find themselves faced with, or symptoms such as depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts and rituals, and some varieties of chronic pain for which there is no apparent medical cause.

Throughout our lives we encounter situations that challenge us. Sometimes we just can't get passed them, we get stuck and cannot seem to find a solution. As a result we become anxious, stressed or even depressed. I work with clients in a non directive way through psychoanalysis, which allows the client look at their situation or problems, explore the potential causes and find a way of dealing with them. There is no 'one size fits all' solution to personal difficulties, everyone's experience is unique and the psychoanalytic approach allows the client find a solution that is individual to their situation.

Sometimes, what we experience in life could feel like a difficult path or challenging situations. Those occurrences may feel distressing when there is no one to speak to and be heard by. In my practice, the central aim is to listen to your story. It is by listening that I grasp what is spoken through your unconscious: slips of the tongue, motives behind forgetting, recurring dreams. Although these may occur for everyone at any time, in my practice, you will have a space to tell your story and recognise where difficulties come from.

As a pluralistic therapist, I work collaboratively with clients. What this means in practice is that I will do my very best from the outset to make sure that I understand your situation, and what it is like for you. From that, we work together to decide a therapeutic method that suits you best to get what you want and need from therapy. What you want from therapy is unique to you, It could be that you want to feel better about yourself, a relationship, or an event(s) that has troubled you. I aim to work responsively and flexibly to provide a safe space and framework for you to achieve that.

I work with people who might struggle in their relationships, have issues with their feelings, thoughts, self-esteem, or productivity, keep making the same mistakes, can't find their purpose, feel misunderstood or different, carry trauma, shame, don't like themselves or others, or have a feeling that something isn't right but aren't sure what/why.

My work as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist is primarily focused on speech and the singularity of each person. I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore any questions you might have and to simply speak about whatever comes to mind as a way of alleviating your suffering. I work within the code of ethics set out by the Association of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland (APPI) and I hold an MSc in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the UCD School of Medicine.

From working with my past client I have learned that my style works well for people who are struggling with self-criticism, low self-worth or anxiety and who are looking for a safe, non-judgemental space to explore their thoughts and emotions. They may feel stuck in unhelpful patterns and are open in gaining insight into their own experiences. This client values a warm and transparent relationship and is willing to reflect on their internal world, challenge negative thinking, and be open to change. They may not have all the answer yet, but they're willing to start the journey.

I am a person centered therapist with ten years experience. I work with individuals and with couples in an inquisitive manner, to create a safe and secure space where all emotionality is welcomed and accommodated. As a client, I will work to help you uncover the pieces about yourself that help you and I both to understand what systems and structures you have in place in order to feel safe. From there, we can work to accommodate these systems and give you a sense of self awareness. My couples work involves a session with each partner individually and then work on the relationship over a number of sessions with the couple together.

Hello and welcome to my practice where I provide counselling and psychotherapy with people experiencing stress, sadness, or anxiety in their lives. There can be so many reasons behind why we are feeling awful, and it can be very hard sometimes to articulate, to share, or even to understand, our inner pain, but by engaging in a relationship with an empathetic therapist, you will experience someone who seeks to learn, to support, to understand, to sit through the hard conversations with you. At its core, a relationship with a psychotherapist helps you heal.

I work with people who are feeling challenged, overwhelmed, or trying to make sense of their anxiety, grief, burnout, or challenging relationship problems. My clients are thoughtful, sensitive, and caring, often carrying more than they realise. They come to therapy wanting clarity, steadiness, a place where they don't have to hold everything alone. You may be navigating stress, hormonal or menstrual shifts, identity changes, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself.

Wherever you are. However you are. You are welcome. Yes, sometimes we just can’t do it on our own and we need help. Therapy is one way to resource yourself to meet some of life’s challenges. Crippling anxiety, overwhelming grief, black depression are sources of deep pain and dark suffering. They can also be as a consequence of early traumatic experiences or negative beliefs we hold about ourselves. To accept where you are is the first step in healing yourself. Hi, I’m Liam and I create a safe place for you to explore your world, where I meet you with compassion and non-judgement in a confidential setting.
