My ideal client feels stuck in old patterns, often overwhelmed or disconnected, and ready for change. They may struggle with boundaries, anxiety, or relationships, and want to understand themselves more deeply. They’re reflective, curious, and seeking a safe space to feel heard without judgement. Their goals are personal—more confidence, clarity, and connection with themselves and others. Ultimately, they want to live more authentically and feel more at peace in their own lives.

Jonny Darling works in private practice providing professional treatment to persons sixteen and over with issues of identity, rifts in relationships, questions of sexuality and occupational difficulties. He has experience working with nervous disorders, addiction, childhood trauma, bereavement and depression. Jonny invites those attending psychotherapy to bring whatever it is that disturbs their sense of themselves; the nonsense of dreams, the absurdities of waking life, the oddity of others, and estrangement with oneself. This is a round-about way of working with distress in order to get at the heart of the matter.

My experience includes working with children on the Autistic Spectrum including PDA, ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, speech and language difficulties, attachment issues, bereavement and childhood trauma.
Hi, I'm Laura. As a Children's Therapist, I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for young people to explore and express their emotions. I understand that verbalising feelings can be challenging for children, especially at a young age, which is why I use various techniques, such as art, play, storytelling, puppets, games and sand, to facilitate their self-expression in a child-friendly manner. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of their experiences and helps in processing difficult emotions.

ADHD Counsellors
When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
