As a Counsellor Psychotherapist I employ a Humanistic approach to counselling. I encourage self-awareness and self-realisation in an individual. I believe people have within themselves all the resources they need to lead healthy and fulfilled lives. As a counsellor I see myself helping clients to discover and access within themselves the restricted resources they need to solve problems. Helping the client safely find their way to the solution. I believe in the best interests of the client at all times and treat everyone with dignity and respect in a non-judgemental authentic approach.

There are times in our lives when we all need help. You may be experiencing a crisis or have been struggling with something for a very long time. You may be experiencing low moods and anxieties that limit you, carrying wounds from old life experiences that are causing you pain, or you may not yet have the words to describe how you feel. Perhaps now is the time for you to take a step forward. In a confidential and supported space, we will untangle what is distressing and challenging you. We will work together to seek greater awareness and clarity in order to empower you to effect positive change in your life.

Both internships offered psychotherapeutic intervention using Art psychotherapy for service users presenting with trauma-related symptoms, attachment deficits, depression, anxiety, ADHD , separation and loss.
Young people experiencing emotional and behavioural disturbances can find it challenging to communicate or understand why they feel this way. The process of Child Art Psychotherapy can benefit in many ways as it is relational and fosters consistency and containment. The psychoanalytic and psychodynamic approach of Art Psychotherapy incorporates verbal and non-verbal communication to gain insight into the child's thoughts and beliefs systems. The focus of therapy is to understand the unconscious material that influences behaviour and emotions in order to foster change and promote healthy psychological functioning.

Lilli’s practice aims to assist individuals with difficulties, thought processes and symptoms that are a source of psychological and emotional distress, by helping them to invent and construct new solutions to life’s varied situations and challenges. Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is a powerful, highly effective treatment approach for many people struggling with difficult emotions - it takes into consideration the singularity of each individual since no two people are the same. Therefore the treatment is tailored to each person’s unique needs and life situation.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among clients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and counselor alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results. Our therapy sessions can either be in English or in Romanian.

ADHD Counsellors
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for an Athlone ADHD counsellor, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counselling in Athlone.
