I am well aware that life can be a struggle when trying to deal with anxiety, depression, profound sadness, grief, relationship issues, emotional upheavals, stress, long standing hurt or deeply embedded trauma. Sometimes it’s about self exploration. I offer a warm, safe, welcoming and non judgmental space where clients can come and examine how they see themselves in their world; explore unhelpful behavioral patterns and look at how they are in relationship to others and themselves. At all times in the Counselling space, I work from my heart; from a place of compassion and love, with genuine acceptance of the client just as they are

I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely met as a human being, not analysed, fixed, or judged. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves or others, often after long periods of coping alone. My role is to offer a steady, compassionate space where we can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and gently work towards change that feels real and sustainable.

Hello, I'm Noel. I am a humanistic psychotherapist based in Navan, County Meath, Ireland. I work with clients for as long or as briefly as they need—sometimes during a short period of change, other times throughout a deeper, long-term journey. My approach is always guided by you. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy; each person brings their own story, challenges, and way of healing. Whether you’re seeking clarity in the midst of chaos, hoping to reconnect with your body and mind, or feeling the pull towards meaningful personal transformation, I’m here to support you.

I have 9 years experience helping Adolescent and adult clients work through mental health and emotional issues.
Hello, I’m Diarmuid , a psychotherapist with a passion for supporting individuals through their personal challenges. My journey into psychotherapy began with a foundation in Philosophy and Theology, where I earned a four-year degree. I later pursued a Higher Diploma in Education and worked as a teacher for several years before completing a postgraduate Diploma in Guidance Counselling. From there I undertook a four-year degree in Integrated Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am a registered member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) How do we turn to see the things that impact us from our blindside?

Feeling lost, anxious or heartbroken does not need to be just endured and can absolutely be helped and resolved. Clients are welcome to bring any issues that they feel stuck with, struggling with or compromised by. These issues may be rooted in the past or related to present concerns or hopes or fears for the future. Any sense of being blocked anxious or lost is a workable and resolvable state. This may be related to significant trauma or abuse in the past or present or present as a vague sense if a loss of passion or meaning. Over 30 years of practice I am confident that all can be changed and improved with motivated engagement.

You may feel weighed down by trauma, stress, or the pressure of caring for others while neglecting yourself. You want clarity, relief, and a space where you can finally breathe. You may long to let go of old patterns, make sense of painful experiences, and rebuild confidence in your ability to cope. Your goal isn’t just to survive but to feel stronger, freer, and more connected, to live in a way that feels true to you.

It's hard to make the first contact when starting therapy. For some people, this can be nerve wrecking, terrifying, especially if you're experiencing anxiety. I value the importance of building a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship, where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. Within this space, only when you feel safe with me, I will encourage exploration, self-reflection, and the development of healthier ways of relating to oneself and others. Sessions with me will be kind, at your pace, in some sessions there might be tears, and in some might be laughter, you will be accepted, however you are.

Clients come to counselling when their normal coping mechanisms are no longer working for them and they are feeling overwhelmed, confused and afraid. It may be due to anxiety in their life, stress in work or relationships, low self esteem or depression. They come looking for clarity, a sense of understanding that they are not alone in what they are feeling and perhaps for practical techniques to manage the conflicting emotions. They also want to be really listened to and not to be judged as they tell their story.

He works with adults and adolescents in private practice in Drogheda, and has previously worked in the HSE and the Irish Prison Service.
Colm supports clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, and the impact of stressful or overwhelming life events. His approach is collaborative and tailored — there is no ‘one size fits all’ therapy, and progress comes from understanding the person behind the problem (not just the symptoms).

Whilst a little anxiety motivates us to get things done, when it begins to take over our every thought, it can be overwhelming. Becoming aware of what is actually happening within and developing new skills to cope is an excellent starting point. Coming to understand ourselves and explore our core beliefs, helpful and limiting ones can bring about growth.

Sandra strives to create a therapeutic environment grounded in empathy while clients embark on their journey of self-exploration and personal growth. Her approach to psychotherapy is rooted in the integration of person-centred and psychoanalytic approaches. She is mindful that each client is unique and tailors her therapeutic approach accordingly by incorporating, for example, CBT, Schema therapy and somatic techniques. So often with symptoms of anxiety and depression, vagus nerve dysregulation is an unseen enemy and Sandra uses the principles of polyvagal theory to help clients become more grounded and centred in the body.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
